Ever More Nest's Kelcy Mae is back with another edition of the celebrated Merry Songwriter Revue, taking place Saturday, December 13, 2025, at BJ's Lounge in New Orleans. Doors open at 7 p.m., with music beginning at 8 p.m.
Now in its sixth edition, the biennial event brings together an exceptional lineup of local songwriters who will debut brand new holiday-inspired compositions alongside beloved seasonal classics spanning all genres. This year's performers include Alex McMurray, Conor Donohue, Dusky Waters, Ever More Nest, Gina Leslie, Gregg Hill, Lilli Lewis, and Paul Faith.
The intimate evening offers audiences more than just music—attendees will hear the stories behind original songs, seasonal favorites, and holiday tunes we love to hate.
"The Merry Songwriter Revue is a way for songwriters to express the full spectrum of emotions that come with the holidays—from joy and togetherness to grief and loneliness, with plenty of humor as well," says Kelcy Mae Wilburn.
The tradition began in 2015 with the release of Kelcy Mae's heartwarming song, video and accidental marriage proposal, "Christmas with You (Merry Me)," celebrating the Supreme Court ruling that overturned the Defense of Marriage Act. Every two years since, Mae has gathered local artists to celebrate holiday music by writing new seasonal songs and performing everything from Christmas carols to winter songs, reverrant traditionals, and less reverrant pop/rock covers.
The event has spawned notable holiday singles over the years, including Joy Clark's 2021 "Gumbo Christmas" and Ever More Nest's 2024 holiday EP featuring the playful "Back in the Doghouse on Christmas" and emotive "Where Do Holidays Go" in addition to an Americana take on "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."
